More than 90K Minnesotans Pre-Registered to Vote Using New Online System
65,000+ Minnesotans, 25,000+ Teens Pre-Registered for Election
The Minnesota Secretary of State's office announced that over 65,000 Minnesotans have pre-registered to vote using the state's new online system, including over 25,000 teenagers.
The online pre-registration system was launched in May 2022, and allows Minnesotans to pre-register to vote up to six months before an election. Once pre-registered, voters will automatically be mailed a voter registration card when they turn 18.
Pre-Registration Makes Voting Easier
Secretary of State Steve Simon said that the new online pre-registration system is making it easier for Minnesotans to register to vote.
"We are excited to see so many Minnesotans, especially young people, taking advantage of this new system," Simon said. "Pre-registering to vote is a great way to make sure you are ready to vote in the next election."
Pre-Registration Deadline
The deadline to pre-register to vote for the November 8, 2022 election is October 18, 2022. Minnesotans can pre-register to vote online at mnvotes.org.
